What Is the LEAD™ Dementia Rehabilitation Specialist Certification?
The Leveraging Existing Abilities in Dementia (LEAD™) approach is a strength-based rehabilitation framework designed to equip healthcare professionals with practical, evidence-informed strategies to optimize function, engagement, and quality of life for individuals living with dementia.
The LEAD™ Dementia Rehabilitation Specialist Certification recognizes clinicians who have demonstrated competency in applying:
Strength-based communication
Cognitive-motor integration strategies
Environmental and task modification
Person-centered clinical reasoning
Dementia-inclusive rehabilitation practices
Participants must complete the full training program and pass the certification examination to earn the credential.

Saturday April 25, 2026 & Sunday April 26, 2026
Breakfast and registration will start at 8am each day.
Course will be begin promptly at 9am.
There will be two 15-minute breaks each day and a 1-hour lunch (on your own).
Course is scheduled to end at 4:30pm each day.

Bring a light jacket or sweater as the temperature can fluctuate. Layers are best.

Please download and review the course manual prior to training. You may access it digitally during the program.
Please bring your laptop or tablet on Day 2 to allow completion of your course evaluation as well as your certification examination.

Filtered water fountain is available to refill your water bottle.
Continental breakfast and light snacks will be provided. Lunch will be on your own.

This link for the certification exam will be active at the conclusion of the training course. An 80% passing score is required (> 24/30 questions correct) with multiple attempts allowed.

To receive credit, all participants must:
sign in at the event
stay for the full session
complete the course evaluation at end of training
PT/PTA: Attendance will be reported to CE Broker on your behalf upon completion of course.
SLP: Course has been approved or 1.2 ASHA CEU credits.
OT: You will receive a certificate of completion with total CE contact hours. This course is not submitted for AOTA approval, but you may submit the certificate and course details to your licensing board.
